Silver paperclip link on black cord

LACONIC
Minimal sterling silver jewelry crafted in Alexandria. Built for everyday wear.
Philosophy
We make very few things. Each one is a length of waxed black cord carrying a single piece of solid sterling silver, knotted by hand and drawn until there is nothing left to remove. No chains. No plating to wear through. No story we cannot show you. This is the whole philosophy.

Craftsmanship
Our workshop, Downtown Alexandria. Six benches, four pairs of hands, and no machine that can feel a knot.
Braided waxed polyester, bought by the spool from a European braider who has been making sailing line for sixty years. It is chosen for the same reason they choose it — it holds a knot under load, it does not stretch, and the wax keeps water out rather than soaking it up.
One element per bracelet, cast or hand-formed from 925 sterling bought as grain with an assay certificate on every batch. Small enough to sit lightly, solid enough that there is no plating to wear through — because there is no plating at all.
Every bracelet is knotted by hand. The sliding closure is four wraps around the standing cord, drawn down and set — tight enough to hold where you leave it, loose enough to move when you ask. A machine cannot feel that tension. A person can.
The silver is polished, hallmarked and seated on the cord last, so the mark is only ever struck into something already finished. Then the ends are sealed by heat, which is why they will not fray.

The cord
Braided waxed polyester
Not leather, which cracks. Not rope, which frays. A marine-grade braid that holds a knot under load and sheds water instead of drinking it. Around 90% of every bracelet we make.
The silver
Solid 925, never plated
One element per piece, and it is solid all the way through. There is no plating layer to wear off at the edges after a season, because there is no plating layer.
Hallmarked
Struck, not printed
Every silver element carries our maker's mark and the 925 standard mark. If it is not stamped, it did not come from us.
Guaranteed
Cord re-strung for life
Cord is the part that eventually wears — so we replace it, free, forever, and re-seat your silver on it. A guarantee with an expiry date is a warranty; this is not that.
New
In their words
“I bought the Meridian eighteen months ago and have taken it off twice. The cord has softened and the silver has not moved a millimetre.”
Journal
Four tests you can do in a shop, in under a minute, without any equipment.
Plating is cheaper, faster, and looks identical for about seven months. That last part is the problem.
An argument against the stack, from a company that would make more money if you built one.
