What we left out.

The Pathway on black cord
A chainA claspLeatherPlatingStones

One piece of solid silver. One length of braided cord. Nothing else.

Made by hand in Egypt. Solid 925 sterling silver. Delivered in Cairo and Alexandria. The cord replaced for life. Eight cords, four sizes. Nothing plated

The making

By hand, one at a time.

It is made once you order it.

  1. A strip of paper around a wrist, marked in pencil01

    Give us your wrist.

Not a bracelet length. Where a watch sits, snug, not tight. The ease is ours to add.

  2. Hands cutting black waxed cord along a steel ruler02

The cord is cut to it.

It is made once you order it, to the measurement you gave.

  3. Fingertips setting the Pathway's silver link onto its cord03

The silver is set by hand.

One piece of solid 925 sterling silver, set into the cord by hand.

  4. Hands tying a sliding knot on the Pathway's cord04

    Two knots, tied by hand.

Sliding knots. Slide them apart to put it on, together to close it to your wrist.

  5. The finished Pathway held up to the light05

    It comes to you.

    Delivered in Cairo and Alexandria.

Two materials

Two materials, and only one of them wears out.

The cord

8colours

A marine-grade wax cord, chosen because it survives being worn every day. Braided, and matte against the polished silver.

The silver

925sterling silver

Solid, all the way through, and marked 925. Nothing here is plated, so nothing wears thin at the edges.

Eight cords

One silver. Eight cords.

The silver stays the same. The cord is yours to choose, and the price does not change with the colour.

Two pieces

Each one means something.

The Pathway on a worn limestone stair in the morning sun

Pathway

For every road you choose.

Some days the way ahead is clear. Most days you find it one step at a time.

The Lotus on a lotus leaf, on the Nile at dawn

Lotus

Open again, every morning.

On the Nile, the lotus closes when the light goes and opens again with the sun. For thousands of years, that made it the flower of beginning again.

For life

The cord will wear. We replace it, for life.

The cord
A cord worn every day will soften, and eventually it will go. When it does, we replace it. There is no charge and no time limit.
The silver
The silver is yours. When a bracelet is re-strung, your own piece is set onto the new cord.
What it costs
Nothing for the cord, and nothing for the work. Postage only, where postage applies.
