Measuring your wrist properly
Most people order one size too large. Here is the two-minute method that fixes it.
Take a strip of paper about a centimetre wide. Wrap it around your wrist just below the wrist bone, where a watch would sit, and mark where it overlaps. Lay it flat and measure to the mark. That is your wrist circumference.
For most of what we make, that is the end of it — anything closing with a sliding knot adjusts from fourteen to twenty-one centimetres, so you simply draw it to fit. If a piece is offered in sizes, it closes with a silver hook or clasp instead, and those are cut to length.
For those, add one centimetre to your measurement. The common error is adding three because the bracelet 'should move'. It should move about a finger's width, not slide over the hand — a cord that slides ends up hanging off the base of your thumb all day.
If you are between sizes, take the smaller one. Cord can be shortened in five minutes; lengthening it means re-stringing the piece.
